Kicking off April

One of my most favorite clients!!! I met this wonderful little girl in January to do her very first birthday pictures and I had so much fun! Ava's mother has this little girl stocked with the cutest possible outfits that ever existed for children! Her birthday session turned out awesome and I was certain her Easter pictures would be just as good! Take a look at her pictures from January!

These are just a few examples from that session. She is just a doll to work with. And her mom has some style! She always has the cutest outfits around. Even better, Ava has a very good temperment! Her Easter session was shot at the Marantha Baptist Church and it was a great session and it went pretty fast too! And the resulting images were great! Ava did a great job again! As if we ever thoguth she wouldn't. She had the cutest dresses and jumpers and that really lends to a great photo!

If we could only teach this adorable little girl to not crawl in a white dress!!! Her mom and her aunt lend to great company while shooting and really helped out in the getting-Ava-to-smile process. And if she grows up with features similiar to these two ladies, mom, you better watch out. Your girls gonna break hearts. And if anyone out there needs a graphic designer, let me know, Avas aunt is amazing at what she does!

Doubling the Fun!

I have recently came to the conclusion that I am only going to be booking a max of 2-3 sessions per day, jsut because I find that it's the easiest way to get crazy behind. One of my last sessions in March was a double session of two great families, and their kids, who hate me.
When I met Julie and Debbie, amazing mother powerhouses, they brough along their kids to the consultation. This is something I always reccomend, I had no idea that I was going to be teamed up against! Don't let me give you the wrong impression, Julie, Debbie and Debbies mother, were great! We had a great meeting and alot of laughing! Their kids were playing together, and kind of went into kid world, and I thought come photo day they would be fine. Holy crap! Was I wrong! I have never had children so anti-me! And the kicker is that their kids are ADORABLE! Serioiusly!
I will say though, they will not be talking to strangers any time soon!!
These kids are so sweet and adorable! They gave me a run for my money as they avoided me!!! Julie and Debbie and their husbands were ever so patient and the shoot was not lost, good shots were captured. These kids are so darn cute. It was a hot day too!
Julie has two girls and Debbie has a little boy, they were just lovely to work for and I had a great time!
Shooting two families at once does have its challenges but I did find that it can be alot easier to capture those ever so important candid moments. I found that during the session, no matter where I turned something was picture worthy.
And Debbie is having, hopefully, another boy!! She is under alot of pressure here to even out the score! I really love these two families! They BOTH have the patience of saints! These sessions came with as many technical problems as I don't even know what! From gallery problems to packages being lost in the mail! Which by the way the post office has yet to return to me!!!
Hopefully some of their patience has rubbed off on me! Julie and Debbie were awesome! And I really feel like more and more when I meet new clients, I am meeting new friends. As both of these girls lent me some support as I went through the oddest month of a small business owner. It is not easy running your own show and living your own life. It has alot of ups but also some downs and Julie and Debbie really helped me in finding my balance.

I hope very much to work with these ladies and their families in the future as I adore them! And I am determined to make those children like me more! Ha!

Fairytales & Weddings

Some of my favorite sessions are couples, couples are so much fun! It always begins very awkward and ends up funny! I recently had the pleasure of working for Tina and Rob, the most adorable couple, who are set to get married in Vegas in May!
Tina and myself, go way back. We used to work together back in the day and I was am just so happy for her that she has met Rob, a truly genuine person. They are so very happy together! I couldn't be happier for my friend! When we met at Panera for our consultation, I could immediately tell that she just adored him and he adored her. They are so cute together and they really fit together well. Like pieces in a puzzle.
We talked alot about where to shoot and what to bring, and what to wear, and settled on the perfect location! The arbetorium, 325 acres of natural rustic goodness. I went and checked it out several times and it was perfect!
It sure was hot out the day of her session! What a trooper she was, walking around the nature center in her cute little heels!!
Tina and Rob met through some friends and have a very relaxed and loving relationship. They are silly together and they love each other. What more can you ask for. Rob proposed to Tina on Christmas Eve. Their session included a save the date template as a promotion we were running and I came up with a million ideas and I know I had to have scared them! They were both very open minded and trusted me. I had thing crazy/brilliant/genius idea to use a tin can phone and put the ring on it and it just came out so wonderfully! Even better is that they liked it too! It was a very cool concept and I am very happy with the results:

Rob and Tina, I wish you all the best of luck in your new life together!

Kaden with a K

I really couldn't be luckier to work for the people I do! Perfect example!!! All my clients are awesome and their kids are just all so smart! It helps that they are cute too!! This cutie pie here is Kaden! And he is smarter than most. I met him and his mother, Leslee at this historic park in Mandarin and boy did we have a blast. He already has a pretty good understanding of photography and knows that the picture is viewable after its captured!
He even asked his mom, can we downlaod them now! Ha!
This was one of those sessions that props may not have even been needed because Kaden was so adorable and so expressive and the kid is sharp as a tack. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is that my clients are so dedicated to their children, and they all are so loved and nurtured.
Let me tell you about Leslee! She has her hands full! She is a mom of a very active little boy and she is putting herself through paramedic school! What a great role model for her son! She has the patience of a saint and she is very dedicated to her child. This session was so much fun! People always think their kids are going to be bad and running everywhere and that makes the best sessions!! I promise!
This is a great family! I had an awesome time at their session, more and more I am just getting so attached to all my clients!

What a great group of people I know! And sidenote, I recently started using a new printing company so everyone can rest assure that their prints will be more beautiful and vibrant than ever before! There has been alot of growth and changes for Unobstructed Studios and I for one am so excited about every single one of them! I hope you are all too!! And enjoy!

The Cutest Kid

Hi, has everyone met Aliyah? She is quite possibly the cutest lil blonde around! Is it also possible that she is unbelievably smart too. Yes. I E-met her mother Hollie over the summer of 2010 and every session we tried to pull together fell apart from sick babies to bad weather. So, I was slightly nervous when we finally locked in a date and had perfect weather, because I was forewarned that Aliyah isn't the easiest in front of the camera. Well, let me tell you that the stars aligned. Hollie had put her lilttle girl through smiling boot camp and she was a doll. This may have been the fastest session ever shot as it was one of the hottest days we've had.
And this little girl sure is smart! We gave her a bible to place on her lap and she was reading it. She is a super smart lil girl. She is such a great little girl. It really shows in her how much she is loved and cared for. Hollie, is a stay at home mommy who also watches other children as well. So, Aliyah has a lot of interaction with others and alot of cognition. And she sure can pose!!! Good work Hollie! You did a great job getting her ready for her session! Hollie is such a great lady, she is also the client that has referred the most new clients to me.

It was another great session! And we did all discover a new delcious kind of jelly bean!! Sweetart Jelly Beans!! They are delicious!
I certainly hope that Hollie and Aaron enjoy their images of their cute little girl as much as I do!!!
